拍品描述: Description: MODEL OF A CEREMONIAL CHARIOT.Nepal. Cast bronze and metal in repoussé with polychrome painting. The four side panels of the car mounted on a rectangular base plate. Grid pattern on the two narrow sides, the front of the car with aureole-shaped opening. To the right and left, on the narrow sides of the rectangular base plate two wheels are attached. The upper end of the car is a red gable roof, which is adorned with a golden Stupa. The front as well as the sides of the base plate are with floral decoration. The front of the car shows various animals and Buddhist figures as well as a flower in the middle. It is probaly a model of a ceremonial chariot, in which a small sculpture of a Buddhist deity could be placed in the aureole-shaped opening. The tradition of ritual processions with ceremonial chariots, in which a figure of a deity was transported through the city and to the temple during a procession, can be found especially in Nepal and is still practiced today. This model of a ceremonial chariot reflects this tradition. Height 36cm, width 26.5, depth 13.5cm. Condition A/B.Provenance:-Private collection Southern Germany. Bronze gegossen und Metall in Repoussé mit polychromer Bemalung. Die vier Seitenteile des Wagens montiert auf eine rechteckige Bodenplatte. An den beiden schmalen Seiten Gittermuster, die Vorderseite des Wagens mit Mandorlaf?rmiger ?ffnung. Rechts und links, an den schmalen Seiten der rechteckige Bodenplatte sind je zwei R?der befestigt. Den oberen Abschluss des Wagens bildet ein rotes Giebeldach, das mit einer goldenen Stupa bekr?nt ist. Die Front sowie die Seiten der Bodenplatte sind mit floralem Dekor verziert. Die Vorderseite des Wagens zeigt verschiedene Tiere und buddhistische Figuren sowie in der Mitte eine Blüte.Vermutlich handelt sich um ein Modell eines Zeremonialwagens, bei dem eine kleine Skulptur einer buddhistischen Gottheit in die Mandorlaf?rmige ?ffnung platziert werden konnte. Die Tradition der rituellen Festumzüge mit Zeremonialwagen, in dem eine Abbildung einer Gottheit w?hrend einer Prozession durch die Stadt und zum Tempel transportiert wurde, ist insbesondere in Nepal zu finden und wird noch heute praktiziert. Dieses Modell eines Zeremonalwagens k?nnte diese Tradition widerspiegeln. H?he 36cm, Breite 26,5cm, Tiefe 13,5cm. Zustand A/B. Provenienz:-Süddeutsche Privatsammlung.
