拍品描述: Soft Morning is the title of this oil monotype on paper by Massachusetts artist Bruce Wood. Created in 1996, it depicts a coastal morning bathed in soft light. The image is inspired by the 19th Century Impressionist painters, but invigorated by Wood's training as a contemporary artist. The 9.25" x 13.75" image is on heavy rag paper measuring 15"x19". It is signed, titled and numbered 1/1 in the lower margin. The artwork is shrink-wrapped on a 20"x24" foam core board for gallery presentation, and will be shipped to you that way, ready for your choice of matting and framing. Bruce Wood is a painter of New England marine and countryside scenes. As a teen, Wood learned plain air landscape painting in Gloucester, Massachusetts, where he studied with Emile Gruppe and a variety of Cape Ann marine painters. He went on to formal art training at Massachusetts College of Art (BFA), and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (MFA). Currently he is the oil painting conservator and director of the Woodshed Gallery in Franklin, Massachusetts, and an active member of the Lyme Art Association, Cape Cod Art Association, and several other New England art associations. Bruce Wood's prints and paintings are in the collections of the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris, the University of Alabama, and the Rockford Art Museum in Illinois.
