Trois ans plus tard, en 1859, il fondait Borel & Courvoisier avec son beau-frère Paul Courvoisier. De nombreux artisans expérimentés oeuvrent dans les ateliers de la nouvelle société, polissant les bo?tiers à l'aide de machines-outils de précision con?ues par le célèbre expert en procédures de fabrication Gusta Pede Pierre, tandis que Fedler Visa imaginait d'installer des bo?tes à musique dans leurs horloges. A partir de ce moment, les pièces d'horlogerie que la marque lancera seront associées à la notion de tradition d'excellence, de technologie de pointe et de machines-outils de précision toujours plus efficaces.1958: La réputation des montres Ernest Borel continueront à cro?tre. Les prix et récompenses s'accumulent: en 1937 le GrandPrix en Grèce; de 1945 à 1958 il y eut 4172 certifications (Bulletin de marche) de l'Observatoire de Neuchatel. En 1958, deux modèles de chronomètres ont obtenu, du même Observatoire, le premier prix pour la précision.
