拍品描述

Description

With a green-glazed base in the shape of a standing turtle and brown-glazed hexagonal columnar shaft. On the plinth a separate three-legged bowl, applied to the rim a full plastic head, wings and tail of a mythological 'Golden Crow'. In Chinese mythology, the Golden Crow symbolises the sun and the turtle symbolises the moon. This analogy is reflected in the character ming 明, which stands for both day and night being illuminated. Just as in life, the deceased should also have a lamp to illuminate the afterlife, which was therefore placed in the tomb with them. Certificate Oxford Authentication thermoluminescence test no. C1086g83, 26.3.2008

Height 35.5 cm
