Description

With olive green celadon glaze in the shape of the mythical creature bixie, tiger-head spout with circular mouth, handle on the back and engraved wings on the sides, standing on four crouching short legs. The vessel shape, based on urns from the Three Kingdoms period, is known in China as a 'tiger pot' (huzi). Researchers disagree as to whether they were used as wine pots or urinals.
