Description

Warp and weft of ivory and brown wool, pile of wool in six colours. An ornamental mandala on a red-pink background enclosed by a slim double border, surrounded by an abstract tiger fur pattern. The dense, airy fringe is created by a long-trimmed, blue and light blue pile. Khangama, like khaden, were common seating rugs used in both monastic and domestic settings. They often featured a central Buddhist symbol such as a vajra or a swastika.
