Richly adorned in beaded jewelry and wearing a billowing scarf. His serene face with heavy-lidded downcast eyes and slender lips forming a subtle smile, the hair arranged in a tall chignon behind a five-leaf crown.

Provenance: From a French private collection.
Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and casting irregularities. Small nicks, surface scratches, and rubbing to the gilt.

Weight: 48 g
Dimensions: Height 6 cm

Manjushri Namasangiti is one of the most important deities within the Newari Buddhist tradition of the Kathmandu Valley. He is conceived as the spiritual progenitor of all Tathagatas and the entire Buddhist cosmos. Manjushri Namasangiti's multi-armed form is a metaphor for his cosmic portent, providing him with six arms to represent each of the Five Buddha Families and Vajrasattva.
