Description: THREE 19TH CENTURY WOODEN BOXES INCLUDING SEWING & JEWELRY BOXES,
19th Century. Three boxes, consisting of a burlwood sewing box with hinged cover with brass plates to cover, the first incised Christina Foster, Aug. 1882; with second brass plate May NLC 1981. The top opens to a burgundy silk interior. Two hinged doors to front which open to expanding drawer which is fitted with numerous compartments, some with covers. Lock and key are present for this box. 6 3/4" high x 11 15/16" wide x 10 1/4" deep. The second box is a rosewood jewelry box with brass and abalone inlay to top, the hinged top opens to burgundy velvet with lift out tray. No key is present for this box. 4 3/4" high x 11 13/16" wide x 8 11/16" deep. The last box is a banded sewing box with brass plate to top, unmonogramed. Two turned knob handles to sides. Key and lock is present. The hinged top opens to burgundy velvet. 5 1/2" high x 11 1/8" wide x 9 1/8" deep. (3 total).
