The baluster-form vase is decorated with a trompe l'oeil gilt bronze and red-enamelled sash tied in an elaborate knot to the front. The ground is decorated with kui-dragon roundels amongst scattered blooms, all below a ruyi-head band to the neck and lappets to the foot. The interior is glazed turquoise and the base is decorated with a prunus on cracked ice design.
