The vase is decorated with two deer head handles to the shoulders, the globular body is decorated with a circular panel enclosing to one side Budai accompanied with boys at play, and to the other side with a reading scholar seated in a grotto below two swallows. The panels are reserved on a gilt ground decorated with a multitude of large blooms. The interior and base are glazed turquoise, with an apocryphal Qianlong mark.
Condition: One handle has been broken into pieces and reglued, with pieces missing.
Light wear.
