Each vase is elaborately decorated with narrative scenes of soldiers in battle in a mountainous landscape. The vase is decorated with two fixed-ring lion head handles to the shoulders. The covers are similarly decorated and surmounted by finial shaped as a Buddhist lion clutching a ball.
