The vase is moulded with lobes decorated with a wide band enclosing a peacock perched on top of a rock by flowers, below a brocade band with a shaped cartouche and a band of stiff leaves at the neck. The reverse with an apocryphal Xuande mark.
Condition: There is a matte glaze flaw to the reverse of the rim which has been polished and with associated chips (possibly incurred during manufacture.
There is surface wear, particularly to the reverse of the lower rim.
Frits to the edges.
