拍品描述
Finely carved kneeling in virasana atop a tiered and waisted plinth, the hands held in anjali mudra clasped around a lotus bud, all above a coiled snake. The winged-vehicle of Vishnu adorned with snake-form jewelry, the face detailed with wide almond-form eyes, gently pursed lips, flanked by ears with pendulous lobes, and hair fashioned into a stylized chignon crowned by a snake tiara. Provenance: From a private collection in Bruges, Belgium. Condition: Very good condition with expected wear, few minor losses and small chips, structural fissures, traces of weathering, remnants of ancient pigment.Weight: 8,975 g Dimensions: Height 36.5 cmLiterature comparison:Compare a related marble figure of Garuda in the Indore Central Museum.
