拍品描述
A RARE RABBIT-FORM LIME POT, KHMER EMPIRE, 11TH-12TH CENTURY

The rotund shaped vessel supported on four stout feet and rising to a gently waisted neck, modeled as a rabbit with upright ears, short, stubby tail, with finely carved details. Covered almost entirely in an opaque dark brown glaze stopping irregularly before the foot, revealing the buff ware, which is typical for 11th-12th century Khmer kilns.

Provenance: From a private collection in Australia.
Condition: Excellent condition, commensurate with age, showing old wear and firing irregularities including firing cracks, pitting and glaze recesses. Some weathering, glaze oxidation and encrustations indicate and extended time of burial. The unglazed buff ware with minor traces of erosion. Minute glaze flaking.

Weight: 787.7 g
Dimensions: Length 15.5 cm
